The University of California Santa Cruz new Environmental Health and Safety building’s primary purpose is to handle, store, and process chemical waste materials for the UC Santa Cruz campus.  The new facility also includes laboratories, administrative offices, and support space to allow the staff to better respond to the increased requirements for hazardous material handling and other critical life, health, and safety services.

Red Car Analytics' commissioning services included: Dedicated Outdoor Air System (DOAS) air handling unit, Variable Air Volume (VAV) terminal units, exhaust fans, fume hood exhaust, domestic hot water, generator, lighting controls, leak detection system, and Building Automation System (BAS) controls.

The project was designed to be a very low energy building with an EUI target of 18 kWh/gsf/yr. and capitalizing on the mild climate of the northern California coast.
